These pricking irons are unlike what you can commonly find else where. Although You could argue that matte black pricking irons or pricking irons with a hollow cut out on the handle isn't uncommon. However, where my irons truly shine is with every precaution I take to accentuate the fundamentals.

Steel Treatment
Medical grade 440C stainless steel, vacuum heat treated, and deep cryogenic treatment as a cherry on the cake.
About the sharpening
I hand sharpen, hone and polish each and every teeth up to my personal standard. My attention to detail in my hand sharpening is complemented by the increased toughness and edge retention from my carefully orchestrated steel treatment processes
Why is it Matte Black?!
The matte black finish is achieved through Quench Polish Quench (QPQ). Unlike commonly seen coated, chemical treated or electroplated finishes, QPQ is a case hardening method that increases corrosion resistance and surface hardness of the native material, not only it is pretty to look at and hold, it actually serves a purpose! Also happens to be damn expensive too :(
These pricking irons are very comfortable to use, require very little effort to punch through leather and are just as easy to pull out of punched leather. A must for anyone looking for an upgrade to their tools
